About this Keynote

Lucy shares her experiences of Teaching & Learning practices from her travels across East Asia and her observations from top-performing education systems. Drawing on Lee Shulman’s idea of Pedagogical Content Knowledge, Lucy suggests ways in which teachers can improve their explanations and subject knowledge. Lucy also discusses three strategies from East Asian practices that UK schools can adopt which include conducting weekly shared planning sessions and providing comprehensive teacher lesson guides.

After authoring two books including Cleverlands: The Secrets Behind the Success of the World’s Education Superpowers, she is now working on her third.
